Second Body Found At D.C. Rowhouse

WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say they have found a partially buried body in the backyard of a rowhouse in the Shaw neighborhood where a week-old corpse was discovered in an attic last week.

Police revealed the recovery of the second body Tuesday. They're trying to determine if it is that of 23-year-old Delano Wingfield, reported missing by his grandmother June 3.

An autopsy concluded the man was beaten to death.

The discovery stems from a statement made by 21-year-old homeowner Jeffrey Neal. Neal is charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of 22-year-old roommate Leon Young, whose body was found last week.

Police say Neal acknowledged killing Young in self-defense. They say Neal told investigators that Young had blurted out that he killed Wingfield, who also lived there.
