Sano Powers Twins Over Orioles, 8-3

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Top prospect Miguel Sano demonstrated his power in hitting his first major league homer then showed some patience at the plate by drawing a bases-loaded walk Tuesday night as the Minnesota Twins cruised to an 8-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Sano hit a towering two-run homer in the first inning in front of the fans who have long been waiting for his heralded arrival. Known for a potent bat, Sano had two hits and has hit safely in each of his first six games since being promoted from Double-A.

Kyle Gibson (7-6) allowed a two-run homer to J.J. Hardy but allowed six hits in six innings to win his third straight start.

Kevin Gausman (1-1) lasted just 3 2-3 innings for Baltimore as he gave up eight runs -- seven earned -- on seven hits. He also threw two wild pitches.
