Ron Sirak On The Weekend To Come In The PGA Championship
Ron Sirak is the Senior Writer for Golf Digest and a published author.
Ron joined Ed and Steve to talk about the PGA Championship and who he believes will be on top the leader board when all is said and done.
Steve asked Ron about Dustin Johnson's performance in the first round of the 2015 PGA Championship. Ron has been very impressed with Johnson's ability to bounce back from bad finishes at previous tournaments saying, "he's sort of becoming the Greg Norman of his generation." Ron believes Johnson is the most resilient player on tour.
Ed asked Ron about the audio clip that was caught on the television broadcast of the tournament in which Tiger Woods cursed at himself. Ron noted, "one of the things (Tiger's) dad taught him is the ten second anger rule where after something bad happens he has ten seconds to be angry and then he has to move on. So when he hits a bad shot he will say something and then he moves on. He lets go of bad shots as well as anyone. It's one of the elements that has made him such a great player."
Ron went on to discuss the performance of Rory McIlroy, who is coming off of an ankle injury, which players are best suited to play links courses well, and the players he thinks will be in contention come Sunday's final round.
