As I speak with the players in the clubhouse, focus seems to be the topic of discussion.
The 2015 season had a disappointing ending not only to fans, but especially to players. Each of them seem to mention finishing .500 every time you speak with them. They talk a lot about bad losses and not being able to sustain success last season. Each seem to take personal ownership in the disappointment.
Zach Britton says while there was no "team meeting" after the season, each man knew what had to be done in the offseason.
Another common topic in the clubhouse is "staying healthy." J.J. Hardy says they lost players to injuries at critical times and it's important to be available for more games. I get the impression that this team has something to prove.
