Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins back at practice, activated off PUP list

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins, entering his fourth season out of Ohio State, is back on the practice field.

The Ravens activated the 2020 second-round NFL Draft pick off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Monday.

Dobbins, who also missed practice time at minicamp, is entering the final season of his rookie contract.

Coach John Harbaugh said last month there was some "complexity" to his absence, but it now appears Dobbins will be available for the Baltimore offense going forward.

Dobbins missed the whole 2021 season because of a preseason knee injury. He came back last season and rushed for 520 yards in eight games.

"It feels good to have him back here on the field," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. "He's excited. We're all excited. We'll probably ramp him up a little bit this week and work him in there and try to be smart in how we do it, but he'll be fine. He's 100 percent healthy. He looks good, he's been training hard, so he's ready to go."

Dobbins told WJZ's Mark Viviano two weeks ago that he would "soon" be on the practice field.

Neither Dobbins or the Ravens said publicly why he missed the first 14 days of practice.

He was park of the league-wide protest among running backs getting better pay.

The Ravens have two days of joint practices with the Washington Commanders starting on Tuesday morning.
