Ravens Injury Report: Steve Smith Sr. And C.J. Mosley Are Questionable For Game Against Pittsburgh

Sometimes the NFL schedule works in favor of some teams and other times it doesn't. The Baltimore Ravens are hopeful that it does in their case as they prepare for a key AFC North contest against their arch-nemesis the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens (3-4) are currently on a four-game losing streak thanks in large part due to injuries to several key players. The Ravens listed a season-high 13 players on their injury report for their last game against the New York Jets on Oct. 23. And seven of those players ended up on the team's inactive list for the game, including five Pro Bowlers.

The good news is that the Ravens have had two weeks to get healthy as they are coming off their bye last week. Still, they have listed 11 players on their injury report for the upcoming game against the Steelers, though most of those players practiced on Friday. The most notable players returning to practice this week were wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. and inside linebacker C. J. Mosley.

Smith and Mosley have practiced on limited basis since returning to the field on Thursday. Both players have missed the team's last two matchups after leaving the game against the Washington Redskins in Week 5. Smith has been nursing an ankle injury and is questionable for Sunday. The 37-year-old is the most reliable of the Ravens receivers, and needs just 108 yards to move into eighth place on the NFL's all-time receiving yards list.

Meanwhile, Mosley had been hampered by a hamstring issue. Mosley, who is responsible for making the defensive calls, leads the team in interceptions (3) and is fourth on the team in tackles (29). With Mosley sidelined, the Ravens defense has surrendered 51 points and twice blown early 10-0 leads. He is also questionable for the game Sunday.

In total, five of the 11 players on the Ravens injury report have been full participants this entire week. LT Ronnie Stanley, RG Marshal Yanda and OLB Terrell Suggs practiced last week after missing the Jets game.

Elvis Dumervil Among Four Players Not Expected To Play Against Steelers

While the Ravens are certainly getting healthier, there are still some question marks about a few of the players availability. Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, tight end Crockett Gilmore and linebacker Kamalei Correa are out for the game. Dumervil will miss his sixth game of the year.

Cornerback Shareece Wright's status is currently listed as doubtful as he did not practice this week. If Wright is indeed unable to go, rookie Tavon Young will likely start in his place.

Steelers Injury Report

The Steelers have 10 players on their injury report this week. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is the biggest question with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Roethlisberger has been limited in practice, though he has taken reps with the first team. Landry Jones will take over the reigns for the second consecutive week if Rothlisberger is unable to go.

Running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) and cornerback William Gay (foot) are also questionable.  Reserve offensive lineman Cody Wallace (knee) is the only player officially out for the Steelers.
