Queso Fresco By El Abuelito Cheese Linked To Listeria Outbreak, CDC Says
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- El Abuelito is recalling all of its queso fresco products because they could be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.
This has sent at least nine people to the hospital in four states, including Maryland.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said they all got sick from the queso fresco made by El Abuelito cheese and sold under three different brands.
Listeria can cause common food poisoning symptoms, but it can be serious in seniors and pregnant women.
