Prosecutors Weigh Findings In Md. Death In Custody

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County state's attorney says it will be at least another week before he announces findings from an investigation into the death of a man who was shocked by a police stun gun in Hagerstown.

Charles Strong said Monday that his office received a report about 10 days ago from the Washington County Sheriff's Office into the April 24 death of 31-year-old Darrell Brown of Upper Marlboro.

Brown died after Hagerstown police were called to a home he allegedly had broken into. City police say at least one officer shocked Brown with a stun gun when he resisted arrest. They say he died either inside an ambulance or at the local hospital.

The sheriff's office investigated the death at the request of Hagerstown city police.
