Prince Releases New Single 'Baltimore'
BALTIMORE (WJZ) —Pop icon Prince releases his new single 'Baltimore' one day before he's set to perform in Charm City.
The tribute song is a peace calling-- following the unrest in Baltimore and the death of Freddie Gray.
"Does anybody hear us pray/For Michael Brown or Freddie Gray/Peace is more than an absence of war/We're tired of crying and people dying/Let's take all the guns away."
The pop icon is set to take the stage on Mother's Day to perform his 'Rally 4 Peace' concert at the Royal Farms Arena.
Concertgoers are asked to wear something gray in honor of Freddie Gray. Though not required, the dress code also shows solidarity with victims of violence.
The Grammy and Oscar-winning performer will be joined by his funk-rock group 3RDEYEGIRL. Part of the proceeds will go to Baltimore-based youth charities.
