Police: Woman Hit By Bus, Seriously Injured

WHEATON, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say a woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a Ride-On bus in the Wheaton area.

Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says Tsehay Woldemanuel, 34, of Sliver Spring was hit on Randolph Road near John F. Kennedy High School on Tuesday morning. He says she was taken to a hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.

Officers say Woldemanuel was crossing the westbound lanes when she was hit by a bus driven by Edward Mericle, 59, of Fulton.

He was not injured.

Police are investigating whether Woldemanuel was walking in the crosswalk.
