Police: Suspects Exit Car, Shoot 17-Year-Old Boy On Mount Royal Avenue
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 17-year-old boy was shot in the 1600 block of Mount Royal Avenue early Tuesday afternoon, according to Baltimore City Police.
Police said the suspects pulled up to the victim, got out of their car and shot him in the lower extremities.
The boy was taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
Investigators said they believe the victim was targeted.
An eyewitness said he heard about eight shots and ducked behind the dashboard of his car as the gunfire was coming toward his direction.
He said when he looked up, he saw the victim on the ground.
"He was writhing on the ground. He really wasn't moving anything below his waist," the eyewitness, who did not want to be identified, said. "He was screaming. He was in a lot of pain."
The eyewitness said he called 911, then pulled over to see if his tuck was hit. He said he has two bullet holes in his radiator, and a shot hit his fender.
"I'm just lucky," he said. "It could have been a lot worse. It could have come through the windshield. I could easily be dead."
