Police Respond To Barricade Situation In Glen Burnie

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A barricade situation in Glen Burnie ended with 38-year-old Mario Alexander Taylor inflicting a gunshot wound to himself, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Around 1:15 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Old Stage Road for a domestic assault. Once at the scene, a female told officers she was assaulted by a man in the apartment.

Officers tried to make contact with Taylor but he refused to answer the door and told officers he was armed.

Around 6:18 p.m., after hours of negotiation officers heard what they believed to be a gunshot from inside the apartment. Officers forced their way into the apartment to find Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

He was rushed to Shock Trauma where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
