2 People Injured, Police Officer Burned In Fire In West Baltimore Earlier Friday Evening

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A police officer was burned in a fire in West Baltimore earlier Friday evening, Baltimore police confirm. Two people were also injured.

The fire happened at around 7 p.m. in the 300 block of South Smallwood Street. Two people jumped out of the building from the second floor to escape the flames, fire officials said.

The officer sustained burns to his arm, police said.

The two civilians were taken to an area hospital, one with critical injuries and another with serious injuries.
