Amber Alert Canceled After Missing Woman & Kids Found Unharmed

ODENTON, Md. (WJZ) -- The Amber Alert is now over for two young children and their mother in Anne Arundel County. The entire area was on alert for hours after the woman threatened to drive her children off a bridge.

Christie Ileto has more on how they were found safe.

Hours after an Amber alert went out Tuesday night, police tracked Tiamarie Valenzuela and her two toddlers, two-year-old Gabriano and one-year-old Gia, to New Castle, Delaware. It's miles away from their Odenton home.

Officers came to Valenzuela's home earlier Tuesday for a domestic violence call.

Her boyfriend told police the two had an argument and when he asked the 27-year-old mom to leave, reports show she said "She was driving to the Delaware Bridge" to drive off the bridge with the children.

"They were not found at a bridge. There were no attempts on anyone's life," said Lt. TJ Smith.

Smith says Valenzuela saw the Amber Alert while she was driving and called police herself. Still, officers say a threat of this nature is never an idle one.

"We have to go with what we're told right then and there and take everyone seriously," Smith said.

Police wouldn't go into detail exactly where the three of them were located.

Detectives say they have a lot of questions for Valenzuela as they start investigating the domestic incident that started it all.

Police don't believe this was a custody dispute but the incident is still under investigation.
