Police investigating shooting death of 2-year-old in Northwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE - Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl who had been shot Sunday evening in Northwest Baltimore.

The child, identified by police as Charlee Gamble, was brought into a hospital shortly after 7 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound. She died at the hospital, police said. 

Investigators believe the child was shot in the 6100 block of Park Heights Avenue. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear. 

Homicide detectives have taken over control of the investigation.
