Police Make Arrest In Towson Comfort Inn Homicide, Identify Victim

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a man found inside the Towson Comfort Inn early Thursday.

The victim, 30-year-old Jeremiah David Koch of Lenhartsville, Pa., was called into a hotel room to calm down the suspect who was agitated.

The suspect pulled a gun. Another man fled from the room before hearing shots fired.

When police arrived they found Koch dead inside the room suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his upper body. Detectives are still awaiting results of an autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the cause and manner of death.

The suspect fled before police arrived, but was later located in the area and taken into custody.

"At about four or five in the morning, I heard police open up 206 'with your hands showing,'" a guest at the hotel said. "It was about right across the hall from me."

Another guest at the hotel said that she learned about the incident from someone at the front desk.

"She was like, 'I'm surprised you didn't run away because of what had happened,'" the woman said. "I was like, 'What happened'"?

The hotel was in the 8800 block of Loch Raven Blvd.
