Police Investigate Accident That Killed Teen Girl

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJZ) -- Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision.

According to police, the accident occurred in the 7400-block of Muncaster Mill Road shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police say a Honda Accord and Chrysler Sebring collided on Muncaster Mill Road. The Honda struck a utility pole and the Chrysler struck two pedestrians that were on the sidewalk.

The two pedestrians were taken to local hospitals. Teressa Rosalind French, 16, died of her injuries and Emily Grace Lowe, 13, is in critical condition.

Police identified 17-year-old Hugo Fernando Da Silv Rompante as the driver of the Chrysler. Johnny Allen Boykin Jr. and Keanu Ashton Lee were passengers in that car.

The driver of the Honda is listed as 17-year-old Oscar Javier Fuentes.

Police say speed was a factor. No charges have been filed.
