Police Force Entry Into Apartment Of Domestic Assault Suspect; Loaded Gun In Plain Sight

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- City police arrested a domestic assault suspect after forcing their way into the apartment he was in early Tuesday morning.

At about 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of West Patapsco Avenue where they forced their way into the apartment for the safety of those inside.

Police discovered 27-year-old Samuel Joyce and a female victim with a laceration on her head.

While officers were arresting Joyce, they discovered a loaded 9mm handgun in plain sight. Joyce told officers the gun was his.

Police recovered recovered and transported Joyce to Central where he has been charged with first- and second-degree assault and handgun violations.
