Police Chase Ends With Crash In Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) -- Two men face charges after leading police on a chase through Laurel.

Officers first noticed a car traveling in the wrong direction on a one-way street in the 700-block of Fifth Street.

Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off and police gave chase.

In the midst of the pursuit, a naked man jumped out of the passenger side of the car. He was later identified as the victim of a kidnapping and armed robbery.

The car eventually came to a stop after crashing into three parked cars and a telephone pole.

Its two occupants were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Donte Powell, 27, and Douglas Mention, 26, both will be charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and weapons related charges.
