Cell Phone Video Shows Arrest In Deadly DC Hijacking

WASHINGTON (WJZ)--Cell phone video captures the arrest of a man charged in a deadly hijacking in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.

It happened just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the 4200 block of Minnesota Ave.

The suspect, Keith Loving, 30, is accused of hijacking a metrobus and then fatally striking a pedestrian when the bus jumped a curb at a gas station.

Cell phone video shows police taking down Loving moments after police swarm the metrobus.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier said at a news conferences that he was armed with a pair of scissors, or pliers.

People on board the bus say he never used the weapon but did attack the driver.

Police identified the man who was struck and killed as 40-year-old Anthony Payne of Washington.

WJZ met with Payne's childhood friend, Maril Nichols, who says he talked to his friend moments before the crash.

"I kinda of felt who it was because he's always right there in that little spot where the bus went at," he said.

Loving is facing second degree murder charges.
