Police Catch A Fleeing Wawa Robbery Suspect

ABERDEEN, Md. (WJZ) -- Aberdeen police caught an Edgewood man after he allegedly tried to rob a Wawa.

According to police, 49-year-old Carl Walker of Ebbtibe Drive was arrested in the robbery.

Police said the robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the Aberdeen Wawa. A suspect entered the store and physically assaulted an employee before demanding money. He then ran from the store, police said.

When police arrived on scene, the employee described the suspect to police and Walker was apprehended a short time later on Roosevelt Avenue in the Highland Commons neighborhood.

Walker was charged with robbery, theft, second-degree assault and burglary.

The Wawa employee did not require medical treatment.
