GM Mike Elias Says Orioles Manager Hire Reports Are 'Premature'

(CBS SPORTS) — The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly concluded a long and methodical search by settling on Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde as their next manager, however their general manager is saying this statement is premature.

Joel Sherman was the first to report that the decision was made, and multiple reporters have since confirmed. The Orioles have yet to make an announcement, but Elias has denied the claim.

Nothing has been confirmed by either team. Our media partners the Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday  night that Orioles executive vice president and general manager Mike Elias denied that he had selected Hyde as his new manager, saying, "very clearly it's a premature report".
