Orioles' New Opening Day Set For July 24 At Fenway Park; Home Opener Will Be July 29
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Orioles' updated 2020 schedule has been released after the season was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The team's first game of the season will be on July 24 against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The first home game is set for July 29 against the Miami Marlins.
The 60-game season will run from July 24 to September 27.
On Monday, the team completed its fourth day of summer workouts as the season now approaches in less than three weeks.
John Means was supposed to pitch for the original opening game in March; he said the team's excitement to get back to playing will help them as they play without fans.
"It's just going to be a season like no other," Means said. "I don't think we even have any idea what it's going to look like; I don't think any team really has an idea of what it's going to look like when these games start. We feel like we're in it; we feel like we have a chance."
The Orioles will also play some intra-team games this week, including a practice game under the lights at Camden Yards on Thursday.
