OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — Police in Maryland are continuing to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash.

Officers were sent to the area of 77th Street and Coastal Highway Saturday afternoon for a report of a serious collision between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle.

First responders confirmed that the motorcyclist was deceased shortly after their arrival. Police identified him as 43-year-old Armondo Bond of Staten Island, New York. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Several lanes of Coastal Highway were closed for nearly three hours as the police department's Traffic Safety Unit investigated the collision on scene.

Police said Sunday that they are still investigating what led to the collision.
