National Cathedral To Host Rolling Thunder Bikers

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Washington National Cathedral has a soft spot for the motorcyclist group Rolling Thunder and their mission for veterans.

On Friday, the church will host a special "Blessing of the Bikes" as part of an initiative to honor those who have served in the armed forces and to provide a place of healing for veterans.

The cathedral is expecting about 100 to 150 motorcycles from the Rolling Thunder chapters in Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey. Cathedral Dean Gary Hall will offer a blessing at 5 p.m.

Motorcyclists from Rolling Thunder will host their "Ride for Freedom" over Memorial Day weekend on Sunday.
