Motorcyclist Killed On Southbound I-95

CALVERTON, Md. (AP) -- State police say a motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash that led to lane closures on southbound Interstate 95.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. Saturday in Calverton, near the Capital Beltway interchange. Police say the motorcyclist was traveling at high speeds when he lost control, struck a vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was then hit by a tractor-trailer. The man was killed at the scene.

Police have yet to identify the man. No one else was injured in the crash. Lanes were closed for hours while police investigated and cleaned up the scene.
