Mother Of Man Killed On The BW Parkway Speaks Out
BALTIMORE (WJZ)--He was hit on Baltimore-Washington Parkway while changing a flat tire-- left to die while his fiancée lay seriously hurt.
As Marcus Washington reports, Rick Warrick's family has some relief as police find the car and driver responsible.
"This right here is so much love," said Rick's mother.
Scharmaine Ferrell-Anthony holds dear---a cherished memory of her son Rick Warrwick. Scores of friends signed a memory board at his funeral last week.
"I love my son. I miss him so much."
Police say in early February-- Warrwick and his fiancée were changing a tire along Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Anne Arundel County when a car struck the couple.
Warrwick was killed his finance seriously injured--- the driver fled the scene.
Her heartache still fresh, Warrwick's mother has been hoping for this day.
"We were just told they found the car and they found the person. I just thank god there is some type of lead, some type of lead," said Scharmaine Ferrell-Anthony.
Now her focus is on what happened. She wants to know who did this and why. Until then, like any parent who has lost a child, this mother aches for an embrace that will never come.
"I'm still looking for him, I know he is not here, but I'm still looking for my baby to come through the door," Scharmaine Ferrell-Anthony said.
Warwick's two teenaged children were inside the car while as he was changing the tire and witness the driver hitting their father.
