Montgomery County Police Investigate Attempted Rape
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police are investigating an attempted rape and indecent exposure incident in Silver Spring.
Police say officers responded to a report of an attempted rape on the 1400 block of Hampshire Court West just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say the victim, a 20-year-old woman, said she had been approached by the suspect, who tried to solicit her for sex. When she refused, she said the suspect forced her to the ground and tried to rape her. Police say the victim was able to fight the suspect off, and he ran away.
Police say they believe the suspect was also involved in an indecent exposure incident in which he approached a 36-year-old woman and tried to solicit her for sex before exposing himself.
