One Dead, Two Hospitalized In Pedestrian Crash At Mondawmin Mall

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- One man was killed and another was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle at Mondawmin Mall in west Baltimore Monday afternoon, city police said. The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized.

The crash happened around 3:25 p.m. in front of the Shoppers Food Market.

Police said the driver and vehicle were stopped at the scene and that the driver was also taken to a hospital for observation. They're working to determine if the driver suffered a medical emergency or if they were under the influence.

Officers were on the scene for hours Monday afternoon and evening.

Witnesses said the scene was scary and traumatizing.

"I took off running in the mall to get some help, that's all I remember," Ramesha Askins said.

"It makes you wonder why anyone steps out the front door in the first place," David Washington Henry said.

Anyone with information should call police at 410-396-2606.
