MIX 106.5 Kicks Off Annual Radiothon To Benefit The Kids At Hopkins

BALTIMORE (WJZ)- The 26th annual MIX 106.5 Radiothon kicks off live from the Johns Hopkins Children's Center lobby on Wednesday, February 25, at 5:30a.m.

This time-honored Baltimore tradition raises funds to support pediatric patient care at Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Officials say in the last 25 years, the annual broadcast has raised nearly $17 million for life-saving medical equipment and patient care, but also for things like toys, books, games, and programs that can provide a bit of normalcy.

"Radiothon is our largest signature fundraising event of the year, and we are grateful for the radio station's steadfast support and commitment to helping our kids," said George Dover, M.D., Director of the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

In the past years, listeners got an inside peek into the world of pediatric medicine through stories of survival and loss told by the patients, nurses, physicians and staff.

The Radiothon will run through Thursday, Feb. 26.
