Metro: Travelers Can Expect Longer Weekend Waits

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says some travelers on the orange, red and green lines will wait longer for trains this weekend because of work.

Metro says orange line trains will operate every 24 minutes. Red line trains will operate every 15 minutes with additional trains between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet during daytime hours. Green line trains will operate at regular intervals except at the Greenbelt station on Saturday only. Trains will arrive and depart every 20 to 24 minutes on Saturday.

In addition, Metro will open early Saturday to help customers travel to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Metro will open at 5 a.m. rather than its usual 7 a.m. on Saturdays.

Customers traveling on the yellow and blue lines can expect regular weekend service.
