Metro Running On Sunday Schedule For Memorial Day

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says trains and most buses will run on a Sunday schedule for Memorial Day.

Metro says the rail system will open at 7 a.m. Monday and close at midnight. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking is free at all Metrorail parking lots.

Work is also taking place through the Memorial Day holiday. Red line trains will run every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont with additional trains between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet during daylight hours. On the blue line, the Franconia-Springfield station will be closed and free shuttle buses will replace trains between Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield.

Trains on the orange, green and yellow lines are operating on a regular Sunday schedule.
