Metro Reports iPhones Robbery Trend In June

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro's police department is warning riders after a series of iPhone robberies on the orange, silver and blue lines.

The Metro Transit Police Department says a number of iPhone 6 devices have been stolen in June. The police department says the devices have been taken at stations or aboard trains between Eastern Market and stations on the eastern end of the lines: New Carrollton and Largo Town Center. The police department says many of the cases are believed to be linked.

The police department says the robbery victims are often using the phone when it is snatched out of their hands and the suspects then run off the train and out of the station. The police department says the robberies typically happen during the afternoon.
