Metro Center To Close For Upgrades This Weekend

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Officials say the Metro Center station will be closed this weekend to allow for sign and lighting upgrades.

Metro says the station will be closed Saturday and Sunday and all red, orange and blue line trains will pass through the station without stopping. Riders can get to the station by using free shuttle buses.

Metro says elsewhere on the system trains on the red, yellow and green lines will operate at regular weekend intervals, though on Saturday trains will arrive and depart at the Greenbelt station every 20 to 25 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Orange and blue line trains will operate every 20 minutes.
