Mel Antonen Talks Another Night Of Struggles On The Mound For Jimenez
Mel Antonen, reporter covering Major League Baseball who appears on MASN TV, joined Rob and Ken to talk about Ubaldo Jimenez struggling this year and the Orioles 14-7 loss to the Twins last night.
Mel started by talking about Ubaldo Jimenez's rough night and how this is becoming way to common an occurrence for Ubaldo saying, "this has been a classic story for almost four years now for Baltimore, you could see last night that he wasn't going to have his command with 26 pitches in the first inning...last night was especially frustrating because he blew a 5-0 lead, against a team who struggles hitting like the Twins."
As for what moves the Orioles could make regarding Ubaldo and their pitching staff Mel said, "I think you have to move him out of the rotation, and give Alec Asher a chance I think he'd be the guy to step in...you have to see if you can afford to move him out of the rotation, you moved him to the bullpen last year and he pitched so great so it's tough to give up on him altogether."
Mel went on to talk about other problems with the Orioles pitching, and the O's winning despite the many injuries that have hit this team this year.
