Md. Woman Charged For Fatally Stabbing Roommate

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police have arrested a woman in the stabbing death of her roommate in their Rockville apartment.

Police say 53-year-old Rita Sanders-Campfield is charged with murder in the death of 67-year-old Chong Park. No attorney is listed for Sanders-Campfield in online court records.

The women were living together as part of a nonprofit group that provides affordable housing for people with psychiatric disabilities.

Police say Park's daughter called the group Tuesday to say she couldn't reach her mother for several days. A worker soon after found Chong dead on her bedroom floor. A large, butcher knife was in her back.

Police found Sanders-Campfield in her own bed with what looked like bite marks on her arm. They also found her journal, which said Park was "evil" and practiced witchcraft.
