Md. Woman Accused Of Stealing Birthday Cake
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A woman has been charged after allegedly stealing a birthday cake from a grocery store in Annapolis.
Annapolis police say it happened Saturday at a Giant grocery store on Bay Ridge Road. A police report says 26-year-old Krystle Green of Annapolis and her son entered the store and put a birthday cake in their shopping cart. The report says the two pushed the cart near the exit of the store and that the boy waited there while Green stood in line without any items. The report says the boy exited the store without paying for the $35.99 cake and waited outside. Green then left and took the cart from her son.
Store security stopped her, and police charged her with theft. Green declined comment when reached by phone Monday.
