Md. Urges Vigilance Ahead Of Possible Flooding

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland officials are urging travelers to watch out for the possibility of flooding across the state in coming days.

State Highway Administrator Melinda Peters said Tuesday that Maryland may be in the path of several storms that have already caused damage in other states, so officials are tracking the storms carefully. The National Weather Service is forecasting the potential for flooding throughout the state.

Maintenance crews are cleaning out drainage systems on roadsides and bridges. Crews are also preparing chain saws and chippers for any fallen tree limbs and tree professionals are on standby in each county.
