Md. Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County man has pleaded guilty to producing child pornography.
Twenty-two-year-old Darius Carr, of Severn, has pleaded guilty to producing child pornography after allegedly sexually assaulting a toddler on March 7 and March 11.
According to his plea agreement, in March 2014, Carr didn't have a place to stay. He moved in with a family on March 6, 2014 to provide daycare for the family's kids.
The next day, Carr was left alone with the children while the parents were at work. Carr produced a video and six photos of himself engaging with the girl in sexually explicit conduct.
On March 11, 2014, Carr was along with the kids again. This time the video showed a close-up of his genitals and showed him touching the girl.
According to Anne Arundel County police, Carr has used his email, online storage accounts and Instagram to store and distribute child pornography since at least 2012.
"This was an unthinkable crime against a toddler," said Anne Arundel County Police Chief Kevin Davis. "I commend the investigators from the FBI and the Anne Arundel County Police Department for their dedication and tenacity in investigating such a difficult case. Hopefully this predator will never be able to victimize another child."
As part of Carr's plea agreement, he must register as a sex offender. If his plea agreement is accepted, Carr will be sentenced to 25 years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release.
The sentencing is scheduled for January 26, 2015.
