Md. Man Killed In Hit-And-Run

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Hagerstown police have charged a suspect in a hit-and-run fatality of a Maryland man.

Police said Wednesday that 49-year-old Nathaniel Hart of Shippensburg, Penn. is charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol and other offenses in the Sept. 14 death of Hagerstown resident Darren Reeder.

Hart couldn't be reached for comment. He has no home telephone listing, and no defense attorney is listed in online court records.

Witnesses told police Reeder was riding a motorcycle that collided with a white pickup truck in a city intersection.

Police say an anonymous tip in October led investigators to people who knew what happened, and eventually to Hart.

They say Hart confessed to driving the vehicle that killed Reeder. Police say information from a passenger in Hart's vehicle validated his confession.
