Md. Man Charged In Judge's Kidnap Found Competent

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland man charged with kidnapping and assaulting a Montgomery County judge with whom he was living has been found competent to stand trial.

Rickley Senning's attorneys had requested he receive a mental health evaluation ahead of his trial, originally scheduled for Monday. The 25-year-old Boyds man was found mentally competent to stand trial at a hearing Friday.

His trial has been rescheduled to Feb. 17 after prosecutors say Senning replaced his attorneys, who asked for additional time to review all the evidence in the case.

Senning is charged with kidnapping and assaulting 53-year-old Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Audrey Creighton in May following a domestic dispute. Senning also is charged with false imprisonment, drunken driving and stealing Creighton's 2011 BMW.

He has pleaded not guilty.
