McCormick & Co. To Keep Headquarters In Baltimore County

SPARKS, Md. (AP) -- McCormick & Co. announced that it will keep its corporate headquarters in Baltimore County after a monthslong relocation search that could have seen the company leave Maryland.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the spices and seasonings giant best known for Old Bay Seasoning said Tuesday that it will move its headquarters about one mile, from Sparks to Cockeysville in Hunt Valley.

For 24 years McCormick has been based in Sparks, 20 miles north of Baltimore.

McCormick says it is working on finalizing a sales agreement with current occupants Verizon for the Cockeysville site and hopes to redevelop the existing office campus by mid-2018.

Spokesman Jim Lynn said last year that the company, driven by a need to combine corporate operations, had considered moving out of state.

McCormick recently reported $4.2 billion in annual sales.
