Maryland Weather: Rain Tonight, Near-Record Heat This Weekend

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The clouds have moved in Wednesday evening after a beautiful day.

Though we saw 70-degree temperatures, things are cooling down as we head into the nighttime hours.

It is possible we could get a few showers around dinner time, so plan accordingly.

We'll see some off-and-on showers overnight and even a few rumbles of thunder early Thursday.

We dry out from there and start to heat up!

Highs will be in the mid 80s with a mix of sun and clouds.

Friday will be hot and humid, with highs near 90° and heat index values in the mid 90s.

A shower or thunderstorm is possible at night.

Near-record heat is in store for Saturday.

If you're headed to the Preakness, prepare for an intense combination of heat and humidity.

Highs will near 94°, but it will feel like we've got triple-digit temperatures outside.

The previous record temperature for Saturday was 96° set back in 1934.

Sunday will be hot and sticky with a thunderstorm or two.

We're back down in the low 70s by Monday.
