BALTIMORE -- A 19-year-old is being held without bail after being charged in the deadly shooting of a 36-year-old man in Baltimore's Harbor East neighborhood.

Quontay Spinks, 19, is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting Antonio Peoples,36, between the Ruxton and Azumi restaurants in September.

Police found Peoples in the 700 block of Alicenna Street, and he later died at the hospital. Spinks was arrested on November 1.

Following the murder, WJZ spoke to people who live and work in Harbor East. Many of them said they were surprised the shooting happened there, but they still feel safe.

During Thursday's hearing, it was revealed that Spinks was tied to several other crimes. The judge spent nearly an hour listing Spinks' charges, which included armed robbery for at least three separate incidents.

According to court officials, Spinks is also facing charges for a shooting in the 600 block of Light Street in September, and carjackings in the 1500 block of Russell Street, the 1900 block of Orleans Street and on South Paca Street.

The judge also revealed that Spinks is a student at Garnet-Patterson S.T.A.Y High School in Washington D.C. and has a long criminal history.

Detectives are currently working with various other law enforcement agencies in the surrounding region to further investigate Mr. Quontay Spinks' possible involvement in additional criminal incidents, Baltimore Police said.

Spinks is scheduled to appear for another hearing on December 5, court officials said.
