Maryland Jockey Club President Tom Chuckas On Triple Crown Possibilities
Tom Chuckas is the President of the Maryland Jockey Club.
Tom joined Ed and Steve to talk about California Chrome's run for the Triple Crown and the possibility of moving the dates for the Preakness and Belmont and Derby.
Tom started by talking about expanding the Triple Crown season to give more time for horse racing to garner the national spotlight it gets from the Triple Crown cycle.
Tom also talked about how delaying the start of races and pushing them back a few weeks benefits the health of the horses by giving them more time to rest. Tom believes tradition can not be used as an impediment to safe racing.
