Maryland Bomb Squad Creates 'Beeping' Easter Eggs For Visually Impaired Children

LARGO, Md. (WJZ) – Prince George's County Fire/ EMS Department Bomb Squad can often be associated with being quick thinkers and having nerves of steel.

These skills are what help the bomb squad to successfully complete their job of disarming or retrieving suspicious packages.

But this bomb squad is taking a break from their everyday job to help visually impaired children.

The crew has created 48 beeping Easter eggs for children who are visually impaired.

The colorful plastic eggs are able to be used multiple times and roughly handled.

Store bought Easter eggs that are used are difficult for visually impaired children to find during an Easter egg hunt. But the peeping eggs will all the children to use their other senses to find them.

Official say the completed "beeping" eggs were donated to the "Vision Program," a part of Programs and Services for the Department of Special Education of Prince George's County Public Schools.
