Mark Zinno: Leading Candidates For Ravens Next OC
The Ravens coaching search continues for their openings on the staff. Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun joined Zinno on "LastCall" to discuss the options left for Baltimore. Contrary to what many had thought, Wilson said that the Ravens never contacted Norv Turner or the Cleveland Browns about the opening. Jim Hostler still is the leading internal candidate for the offensive coordinator position.
The Ravens also have a lot of personnel questions to address. They have 14 unrestricted free agents about to the market. Wilson said the Ravens must re-sign tackle Eugene Monroe. He added that Monroe told him that he wants to stay in Baltimore and his family has ties to the region. Tight end Dennis Pitta will be highly sought after as well, but the Ravens may not be able to use the franchise tag on him because it will be too expensive. Pitta played a good amount of snaps in the slot so he will cost more nearing wide receiver money.
