Man Sentenced In Botched Robbery Attempt

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A Glen Burnie man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for trying to shoot employees at an Annapolis store during a botched robbery.

Darius Cameron, 28, was convicted of two counts of attempted murder in January. The Annapolis Capital reports that he was sentenced Monday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors say in August 2011, Cameron entered Anita's Spanish Grocery, pointed a revolver at employees and demanded money. Authorities say he pulled the trigger several times, but the gun malfunctioned.

Prosecutors say the employees chased Cameron around the store until police arrived.
