Man Killed In Salisbury House Fire

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Fire officials say a man has died in a house fire in Salisbury.

Salisbury Fire Chief Rick Hoppes says the fire was reported about 2:40 p.m. Friday in a house on Cottontail Road. Officials say firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the second floor.

The State Fire Marshal's Office says nearly 30 firefighters worked for 35 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

Authorities say the man was found dead at the top of the stairs. His body was taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
