Man Gets 25 Years In Hagerstown Slaying
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- One of three defendants in the fatal shooting of a Hagerstown man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Herald-Mail reports that 27-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez was sentenced Monday for second-degree murder and a handgun offense in the April 2013 slaying of 26-year-old Steven O'Brien.
Police say the three went to O'Brien's apartment to steal drugs and cash.
The sentence was part of a plea deal Gonzalez reached with prosecutors in January.
He apologized to the victim's family in court.
Thirty-seven-year-old Cory Usher was convicted in March of second-degree felony murder in the case.
A 16-year-old boy is in juvenile detention for committing armed robbery in the incident.
